Some quotes from people I have worked with;
I met Chris at the youth club when I first met her I thought she was a lovely lady and very kind,she has always been there when I have needed her. Always helped me when i needed help very reliable, when you need her she will be there for you. Melissa S.
I’m glad to say I won’t end up (prison) I would have it wasn’t for you I do think xx I love your lectures.Elizabeth C.
Mary and I worked together when she was trying to finish a college course-we worked casually and informally but met regularly. occasionally we did some academic work together at other times we processed some of her difficult and emotionally draining family life. Mary decided she needed to get out so we did some life planning and helped her move towards paid employment budgetting with an end date in mind for her to move in to a house share.
She says; “ I met Chris at the ham youth club when I first met her I thought she was a lovely lady and very kind,she has always been there when I have needed her. Always helped me when i needed help very reliable, when you need her she will be there for you“.
Beth had been struggling with her sexuality and her presentation to the workld and had not been accepted for who she is by her mother and nan. She had become the protector of the pack and fought a lot and had difficulty managing her anger. We work together still and she says;
“Chris is banging, I love her lectures, they make sense, She answers when i ask something others have said ‘how do i feel about that?’ and I wanna hit them. She seems to care and even if she doesn’t she is there for me and has helped my family too”.
Jasmine‘s story is recorded at length elsewhere so I will just quote her opinion of our work together if you wish to read more please see her story in the section entitled ‘We all need help sometimes’ on the Home Page.
Here’s my testimonial below (I wasn’t quite sure what else to say without crying!):
The honest truth is no words can describe or sum up how much you did to help me. During one of the worst and lowest points of my life, you looked out for me and never gave up on me. When everyone else had left and abandoned me, you came into my life and guided me through thick and thin. I will always admire how you could break down and analyse my problems for me. Never have I ever had someone so understanding and supportive. Without your help and guidance, I would not have got back into education, completed my A Levels and be studying at university as I am today. Sometimes all you need is someone to believe in you and to bring out the better side of you to help you accomplish all of your dreams and you did that for me“.
Julie said ‘You’re the only adult who I have met who is not a dickhead. Stay Awesome’.
And a quick quote from a collegue who specifically with ‘young offenders’; ” Thanks Chris. It was great working with you, especially with young Tom – I saw him at his best when he was with you”.
